In the framework of the launch of its action plan for 2018 and its new modern vision, Ogero revealed its new logo and slogan "It All Starts Here" which revolves around integrity, innovation, growth, compassion and drive. The ceremony entitled "Ogero's preliminary plan 2018: Goals, achievements and new identity", was held under the patronage of H.E. Saad Hariri, President of the Council of Minister of Lebanon, on February 6th, 2018 at the Grand Serail, Downtown Beirut.

The Dubai Police General HQ has launched the "Oyoon" (Eyes) project which aims to create an integrated security system using sophisticated technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) features to prevent crime, reduce traffic related deaths and negative incidents.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), represented by ICT Fund, the TRA's funding arm, signed a cooperation agreement today with Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). Under this agreement, the TRA will fund the Emirates Mars Mission 2117 launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

According to the World Bank, about 1.1 billion people lack formal identification. This issue was raised at the recently held World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 25, where organizations from government to business called for greater multi-stakeholder cooperation on digital identity. The international community needs only to look to the United Arab Emirates for inspiration.

Ajman Digital Government confirmed its active participation in the UAE Hackathon, organized by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) under the theme "Data for Happiness", which is held in six stages across the seven emirates. India's smartphone market has finally seen a change at the top, with Chinese vendor Xiaomi now leading with shipments close to 8.2 million units in Q4 2017, according to research firm Canalys. Despite annual growth of 17%, South Korea's Samsung failed to maintain its lead, shipping just over 7.3 million smartphones to take second place.

As we expected, 3GPP TSG RAN Plenary Meeting in Lisbon successfully completed the first implementable 5G NR specification, non-standalone 5G NR on December 21, 2017. This is a day that caused a great sensation in the whole industry because it shows 5G will come to commercialization very soon, and the promising 5G use cases will come to reality step by step.

The World Economic Forum announced on January 23 an international expansion of its Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. New affiliate centers will open in India, Japan and the United Arab Emirates, creating an international network dedicated to maximizing the benefits and minimizing the risks of emerging technology.
